Behind the Scenes of Bagging Climate Change
Treehugger.com picked up our latest video and wrote a nice little article to accompany it.
Bagging Climate Change from Brighter Planet on Vimeo.
The day before filming Mike and I bought 200 garbage bags from the local supermarket, inflated them with a shop-vac, and tied them shut with rubber bands. The next day 50 of the bags had deflated. We took a moment of silence for their sacrifice, then reinflated them, retied the rubber bands, and filmed from sun up to sun down.
When we finished, we just popped off the rubber bands, and packed up the bags. Then everything went back into the closet at the office for more normal uses. I like the idea that we’ll be reusing these movie props to throw out our trash and roll up our posters. Maybe it’ll help, just a little, to change how much we throw away.
